Erstwhile Super Eagles winger Finidi George has been appointed an assistant coach in the Super Eagles following a major re-organisation by the Nigeria Football Federation, Pnosports.com reports.
The NFF also announced that Ike Shorunmu will take over from Alloyius Agu as the Super Eagles’ goalkeeper trainer.
Finidi, who won the coveted UEFA Champions League title with Ajax Amsterdam in 1995 will serve as the second assistant coach.
The former Real Betis of Spain star is currently the head coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side Enyimba.
Salisu Yusuf retained his position as first assistant coach. He will also oversee the Home Eagles and U-23 team.
Former Enyimba gaffer Usman Abdallah will work as the third assistant coach, while Eboboritse Uwejamomere will be the match analyst.
According to the NFF, “a new head coach, for the Super Eagles will be announced and officially unveiled once the processes for his engagement and contract-signing are concluded.”
