The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) is to construct 20,000 units of Golden Jubilee Housing Estates across the six geo-political zones in the country, to mark the Authority’s Golden Jubilee Celebration (1973-2023).

The Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of FHA, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, said the decision was in line with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment towards providing livable and affordable houses to Nigerians.

Senator Ashafa dropped this hint during the unveiling of the Golden Jubilee logo and theme, to mark the 50th anniversary of FHA, on Wednesday at the Authority’s head office in Asokoro, Abuja.

He described the event as historic, coming at a time the new administration, built on renewed hope and determination, to improve Nigeria’s housing deficit, stating that five decades down the line was worth celebrating.

He further described President Bola Tinubu as a visionary leader, whose determination to do the needful in the housing sector was not negotiable.

He promised the new administration under the President to achieve the FHA’s target in fulfilment of it’s mandate.

Senator Ashafa, while describing the authority as digital, whose operation was on a new pedestal, also promised to Institute a meritorious service award to both current and past staff of the authority.

He assured that he would realize the replication of the recently launched Mbora District 7,0000 Unit-Golden Estate in Abuja, in the six geopolitical zones; and commended President Tinubu on the choice of the new Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Architect Ahmed Dangiwa, stating that his wealth of experience would facilitate provision of housing to Nigerians seamlessly.
