The overwhelming jubilation heralding mass acceptance and concomitant followership brought about by his official resignation from office, to a public declaration as a candidate in the Enugu Gubernatorial race, 2023 no doubt, marked Hon.Barr. Chijioke Edoga (Okaa Omee 1) out as an inheritance of grace, good will and God’s abundance, symbolizing peace, unity and social justice for all.

I reason that most law lords especially jurisprudential scholars as Roscoe Pond would prefer to describe or personify him as,”a hall with many mansions”. His candour, humility, civil disposition, personality aura cum super cereqabral endowment are charmingly ubiquitous, so attractive and readily able to disarm and dislodge war chested foes in their numbers.

Ever soft spoken in the best of urbane language enmeshed in rich intellectual depth laced with sound knowledge and wisdom, he is like the biblical King Solomon. If ever any saint(s) existed alife here on earth, trust that Hon. Chijioke would be counted as one.

As it is, the only dissent voice about his candidature appears to be coming from the fully decimated camp, otherwise, Enugu is at concordance speaking favourably with one voice over the suitability of Okaomee as the eminently best candidate seeking the soul of Lion Building, Government House, Enugu, come 2023 general election.

It would be pertinent however to state unequivocally that the fact that people appear to have found a comfort zone with his candidature does not ipsa facto insulate him from some obvious human foibles.

Yes, as a human, he is not and could not be adjudged a living saint on earth. While his counterparts in the race are deeply engaged in image laundering, perhaps, to repair the irreparable images already heavely battered by mischievousness, egoistic tendences, dishonest and fraudulent practices hanging on their necks, Hon. Chijioke keeps flying high and higher like an Eagle he is, without being tainted by lucre of office or personal relationship with others.

But hard as they may fight to push for the redemption of their already soiled names, harder will they not succeed because people are now wiser than all their mischievous and diabolical crafts. Honourable Chijioke prides not in ill-gotten wealth rather than through a tall clean record of excellence eminently earned by virtue of hardwork and honest dealings both in public and private life. He is content, composed and bold enough to walk the street tall unlike many other contenders who are already on the watch list of anti graft agencies.

All the social media war; all the electronic conspiracy/gang up with diaspora brothers rather than save them a bit is already helping their sinking canoe to finally capsize. The God of war never went aslumber while the vandals took to destruction and disruption of an existing precedent after benefiting from same for over two clear decades.

Ekweremadu from every indication, wants to rule Enugu through institution of violence and anarchism which possess the power to consume the youths in particular, and the general public at large. We say so because disagreeing with an already existing zoning agreement in Enugu is to spoil for war which its consequences will result in colossal loss of both life and property. Unfortunately, he will not be there but in his safe havens when the bubble will burst.

What shall it benefit a man when he garners the whole wealth, yet the spirit of the dead will keep hunting his back in anger of avarice, arrogance and obstinacy as the great Caesar in one of William Shakespeare’s epic work?

As a chip of the old block, Hon Chijioke will do no less than keep blazing the trail, and Enugu will be better for it. We ain’t looking for a ruler, but a leader that can feel the impulse of his people any day.
