Buhari’s aide heavily defeated at Kano APC primary

The serving Member Representing Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency, Hon Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya has defeated former Special Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad in a primary election of APC in Kano State.

The result was announced by the assigned returning officer of the election Hon Faizu Alfindiki, the incumbent Chairman of Kano Municipal.

Alfindiki declared the serving Federal Lawmaker winner with 109 votes in the poll to trounce Bashir Ahmad who got 16 votes after the party’s delegates casted their votes at the Gaya Local Government Islamic Centre on Friday.

In his response after the result was announced, Hon Abdullahi assure his continuous commitment to his constituency and lamented to show his concerns to his constituents due to unflinching confidence and support repose in him by APC delegates during party’s primaries from Albasu, Gaya and Ajingi Federal Constituency,

He added that there is much to do in making the Constituency great with the goals of more dividends of democracy which stand as common way to touch the life of less privilege from the grassroots.

Bashir Ahmad who later claimed in a Facebook post that thugs were used to deny him of victory.

“As an aspirant, I left the venue of primary election for Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency, because of the security of our majority delegates.

“If I want to compete with the best, thugs shouldn’t be part of any election. A dakace mu!”, he wrote.
