The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has disowned Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as one of his political sons.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with 12 APC governors in Abuja on Monday, Tinubu who is known to have groomed Osinbajo politically, spoke in reaction to Osinbajo’s declaration earlier in the day for the presidency.

Tinubu has himself in dearing for the presidency in January stated unequivocally that it was his life ambition.

However speaking with newsmen shortly after a meeting with 12 APC governors at the meeting that took place at the Kebbi Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, Tinubu when asked of his reactions to the declaration of his political son, Osinbajo, for the presidency, simply responded: “I don’t have any son grown up enough to make such declaration.”

The former Lagos State governor, however, said his meeting with the 12 APC state governors was to seek their collaboration, support and encouragement concerning his 2023 presidential ambition.

Osinbajo served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State for two terms when Tinubu was governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.

Tinubu was also believed to have also supported Osinabjo’s nomination as vice-president.
However, the declaration that Osinbajo is not his son may have brought their once close relationship to the precipice.
