Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stirred strong reactions on social media after practically installing Peter Obi as next Nigerian president in a public function.

Obasanjo stepped out of his seat at the function, invited Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, offered him seat reserved for him at the function and urged him to seat down on it.

As soon as Obi sat down, Obasanjo said: “My job is done” after the symbolic installation, according to the trending video that showed when Obasanjo pulled Peter Obi out of his seat and made him seat on his own seat.

This has attracted reactions from Nigerians on social media.

@KadunaResident

Obasanjo’s endorsement is strong endorsement and step in the right direction It is another slap on Amoda Ogunlere (Tinubu) face hoping for SW votes. Afenifere did the same. Even his people don’t support him. We are not stupid people We are marching to the Villa, no looking back
