Many people are feared to have died following the collapse of Madonna Catholic Church building in Iyiowa, Odekpe Community, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday morning.

The collapse of the church isn’t unconnected to the heavy flooding that has taken over many parts of Anambra State which had swallowef many communities.

As at the time of this report, the number of casualties can’t be ascertained but residents are making efforts to rescue as many as possible.

This is coming barely 24 hours after an engine boat carrying about 85 passengers capsized at Umunnankwo Community of the same Ogbaru Local Government Area, with many reportedly dead.
