Vice Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) Sen. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has taunted the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for losing the just concluded Osun state governorship election to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sen. Ademola Adeleke of PDP scored 403, 371 votes to defeat the incumbent governor of the State Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 375,027 votes. Kehinde Atanda of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) came third with 10,104 votes while Yusuf Lasun of the Labour Party (LP) came forth with 2,729 votes.

In the build up to the election, the APC National leader has asked the electorate to vote massively for the ruling party. He mocked members of the opposition parties including PDP and labour party, saying that they will continue to labour till they die.

He said, “Think about your children and vote accordingly so you can see the future. Come out en masse. Don’t mind PDP and other mushroom parties — parties like Labour; they will labour till they die. God will not make you labourers”.

But shortly after the PDP candidate was declared winner, Sen. Datti Baba-Ahmed in his verified twitter handle mocked the APC leader for emptying the treasury of lagos state into Osun without winning the election.

He informed those looking for the structure of Labour party to note that the people is the structure. He said that with all the structures of the ruling party including their presence at the National, State and local government assembly they still lost the election to an opposition party. He said that some people will be dazed in 2023 because they will be buys looking for the structure of Labour party until it is announced they it has won the Presidential election.

His tweets, “Your Jagaban said Labour party will Labour in vain, after spending billions of naira from the Lagos treasury, they still couldn’t win the heart of Yoruba Land.. keep asking Where is LP, come 2023, you will find us in aso rock…

“For those asking Where is LP should remember that a journey of a thousand mile start with a step.. and we have taken that step, and come 2023, we will arrive at our destination, Insha Allah.. just like Adeleke…”

He said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should consider adding the name and picture of Presidential Candidates on the ballot paper to make it easier to identify and vote for the candidate of their choice.

“We need a ballot paper like this, with the candidate pictures printed alongside the party… Please retweet for awareness, INEC needs to see this… Most people still don’t know Peter Obi’s party..”

He said that those who cave in to sell their votes have already been settled and have no moral grounds to demand good governance from those occupying political positions.

“When they spend money buying your vote, they will spend the rest of their years in office recovering what they spent during election…. So be ready to bear with them, when they are not working, they have already settled you…”

You may wish to note that Sen. Baba- Ahmed is the running mate to Peter Obi, the Presidential canidate of Labour Party.  The 40yrs politician from Kaduna State is the Proprietor of Baze University, Abuja and Baba-Ahmed University Kano.
