The Member representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi, has commiserated with his colleague, Hon. Arc. Muktar Mohammed, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Muktar Umma Salma.
Onuakalusi, in a condolence message, described the deceased as a woman of dignity, humility, faith and quiet service whose life had a positive impact on her family and community.
Hajiya Umma Salma was the wife of the former Chief Judge of Jigawa State, Hon. Justice Mukhtari Adamu, who served the state judiciary with distinction before his retirement.
The lawmaker said the deceased was not only a devoted wife and mother but was also widely respected in Dutse and across Jigawa State for her commitment to Islamic values, community service, and the welfare and education of women and young girls.
He noted that as the wife of the head of the state judiciary during her husband’s tenure, Hajiya Umma Salma played an important supportive role in upholding the dignity of the office.
According to him, she also extended care and solidarity to members of the judiciary, their families and the wider community.
Onuakalusi further recalled her charitable and Da’awah activities, saying they reflected her deep commitment to faith and service to humanity.
He said Hajiya Umma Salma left behind a legacy of compassion, family devotion and selfless service, adding that her memory would remain an inspiration to the many lives she touched.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II, I mourn with the people of Jigawa State and the entire Jigawa State Judiciary over this irreparable loss,” he said.
The lawmaker prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed Allah to grant Muktar Mohammed, his family and all those she left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
“May Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings, grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and grant Hon. Arc. Muktar Mohammed, his family, and all those she left behind the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Onuakalusi said.
