Nigeria’s Super Falcons bounced back from Monday’s defeat to South Africa after beating Botswana 2-0 in their second Group C game in Rabat on Thursday night, reports Pnosports.com.

Randy Waldrum’s ladies dominated the opening exchanges but were let down by their poor touches around the box.

Nigeria took a well deserved lead in the 22nd minute through Ifeoma Onumonu.

The forward slotted home following a superb pass from Halimat Ayinde.

Chiamaka Nnadozie produced two fine saves to deny the Mares chance of an equaliser.

Substitute Christy Ucheibe added the second goal three minutes after the break after she was teed up by Tony Payne.

Onumonu wasted a glorious chance to double Nigeria’s lead in the 66th minute.

The American-based striker was put through on goal by substitute Monday Gift but she shoot straight at the Botswana goalkeeper.

Ucheibe had a shot saved in the 73rd minute as the Super Falcons piled more pressure on the Mares.

Nigeria now occupy second position in the group with three points from two matches.

The Super Falcons will take on Burundi in their final group game on Sunday night.
