*SARS H/Q is next target?

Two policemen alleged to have been in communication with some of the escaped terrorists from Kuje Prison have been arrested and are being interrogated.

It has also been revealed of plans which has reached advance stages by that the terrorist group to hit the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) headquarters in Abuja.

Recall that the Kuje Medium Security Correctional Centre in Abuja was attacked on Tuesday by the ANSARU/ISWAP terrorists who are said to be the same terrorists that bombed the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28 in order to set their members being detained at the facility free.

One of the sources told the Daily Trust newspaper that the terrorists attacked the facility and freed their high profile members because their plan to use the abducted passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna train in exchange for their members was not yielding any result, since the federal government was adamant.

He said part of the walls of the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre was brought down using explosive devices that gave them easy access.

The source said in addition to the request for the release of their young children by the federal government in exchange for the Kaduna bound train captives, the terrorists, who belong to the ANSARU sect loyal to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), were equally said to have demanded the release of some terrorists held in the facility, among others.

He said the terrorists were equally planning to attack the Special Tactical Squad (STS), formerly the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) headquarters in Abuja, after the attack on Kuje Prison and the necessary reinforcement got.

*Intelligence ignored

Another source said vital intelligence provided by the relevant agencies was ignored by the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) and other security agencies detailed to provide adequate security at the facility.

According to this source, it was this development that gave the terrorists unfettered access to the Kuje facility around 10.30pm on that fateful Tuesday night.

This source informed that apart from the Warders at the Kuje Prison, there was a Task Force comprising the military, police, DSS and Civil Defence personnel providing security at the place especially with the growing number of high profile personalities being detained in the facility.

“Sadly there are moles everywhere and therefore, even though the security operatives were alerted, the terrorists had their way.

“And that is why they perpetrated the nefarious act with precision. Some of them distracted attention of the security operatives by detonating many explosives outside the facility and thereafter destroyed the main entrance gate, which gave a different group task with the responsibility of bringing out their members unfettered access.

“Those that gained access went straight to the cells where the Boko Haram members were incarcerated and set them free…There was no serious resistance.

The invaders reportedly used dynamites and destroyed the heavily fortified facility, including the Central Terrorism Unit (CTU), freeing all the terrorists there.

“Those freed would definitely unsettle Nigeria’s security architecture; they would disrupt peace unless something is done.

“And as you can see, the VIP section was not compromised because those incarcerated there were not their targets,” the source informed Daily Trust.

This information is similar to the ones obtained by NewsdeskAfrica.com.ng, which informed of how the syndicate worked to get some NCS officials not to carry out the routine check of the state of the lock-up of the detaintion cells, to compromise the process of their escape.

The sources said that when the operation lasted, the terrorists did not enter the cells but were firing shots at the general area, while using the languages heard during their released video to instruct their members on what to do.

The sources said that it was after the situation appeared to have died down and the other criminals detained in the cells discovered they had no serious lock on their cells that they escaped, but the VIP detainees, who were not part of the plot and feared so much after their lives, chose to contiue to lie flat on the ground, panting and did not move an inch, afraid they might be killed if they did move an inch.

Our investigations at the Force Headquarters and at the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), did not show that any serious investigation is being done on the matter aside the routine procedures take during security breach.

“There is nothing special going on here in spite of how sensitive this issue is. We shall soon forget about it all when another incident happens shortly. That is our style, while the felons go scot free,” different sources in the FHQ and NSA office said.
