The Conference of United Political Parties (CUPP) has endorsed the position of the House of Representatives Minority Caucus, which had called on President Bola Tinubu to either demonstrate effective leadership or resign from office.

CUPP in a statement signed by Chief Peter Ameh, its
Acting National Chairman, “fully aligns with this view and believes that the current administration must rise to the challenges facing Nigerians or make way for leaders who can deliver meaningful results”.

The body noted that “in a saner clime, any elected official who refuses to produce results of good governance that will help make the lives of the people better should honourably resign.

“President Bola Tinubu and his administration must step up immediately to address the pressing issues of insecurity, economic hardship, and the general wellbeing of Nigerians”.

It added that “leadership is not a right, but a responsibility. Where this responsibility is not being discharged effectively, the honourable path is resignation.”

CUPP stated that it remains committed to advocating for good governance, accountability, and the welfare of all Nigerians, urging President Tinubu to heed the call and take immediate, visible steps to alleviate the suffering of citizens across the country.
