As political alignments are gradually building up in Imo State ahead of 2027 Governorship election, All Progressives Congress’ (APC) stalwarts are pulling their support towards a major Aspirant, Barr. Dr. Obioma Success Akagburuonye.

The stakeholders from the three political zones of Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu, converged in their numbers at the Hope Rising Foundation Secretariat, Owerri, of Chief Akagburuonye, to express their unalloyed support and solidarity, pledging to deploy all within their reach to ensure his victory and entrance to the Douglas House, Owerri, come 2027.

They praised Akagburuonye’s political sagacity, empowerment of Imo youths, women and communities, through his Hope Rising Foundation, and particularly, his absolute faith in God and an overwhelming investment in His Kingdom.

The stakeholders took turns to highlight Akagburuonye’s sterling qualities and why he was the right man for the job.

Hon. Uchechukwu Ewuruigwe from Orlu Local Government Council of Orlu Zone in extolling the magnitude of Godliness in Akagburuonye said: “I took time to listen to you, and I can say in all honesty that I am so much pleased with your ability. But there is one thing that is very charming that I picked up from you, which attracted my imagination so much, and that is, your faith in God.

“That is one thing I am taking home from you today. Because the foundation of liberty begins with God. And because you have made Him your stronghold, I am very much convinced, very, very much convinced that He that started this good thing will bring it to a fruitful conclusion.”

He added: “And I can assure you that these men you see here, they are not green horns. At least I can count about 80% of them who understands your intention. I just want to tell you one thing today.I just want to thank you. Thank you for your vision. Thank you because by the special grace of God, you are coming at the right time.”

Hon. Mrs Helen C. Nosike, from Owerri west of Owerri Zone, described Akagburuonye as a straight forward and God fearing man, noting that he lives his life by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

“A straight forward man, a man of his words. You cannot push him around. He’s a Christian. He’s a child of God. You cannot tell him, like what I said, even if you direct him, he will go on his knees. He will ask his God. So he does his things as directed by God.”

She encouraged her colleagues to put in all efforts to make Akagburuonye a household name.

Also speaking, Emma Buka Iwanyanwu from Iheme Mbano, Okigwe Zone, commended Akagburuonye, noting that he is a man that already knows what he wants and has declared his interest in the Governorship election because God has directed him.

“You already know what you want. You are a self-made man. If you decide not to come out, you will not go hungry. If you have decided to come, I think and I believe that God has directed you to come.”

In the same vein, Ike martins Daniel of Owerri West commended Akagburuonye on his commitment to God, insisting that it is God who has the authority to bring a vision to reality.

Meanwhile, in his opening remarks, Akagburuonye told the Stakeholders that he did not take the decision of contesting and becoming the Governor of Imo State by his own strength but through God. He noted that all about him is God and that his partnership with God has never failed him. He urged them to follow him, assuring them that they would not miss their way.

“I like committing whatever I’m doing into the hands of God. If not God nobody can claim to be whatever he is. If you don’t acknowledge that you are deceiving yourself. Everything about me is all about God, even as I said in my book- Me and My God.

“I urge you to follow me because in my work and walk with God He has not failed me. If you follow me I assure you that you will not miss your way. I am prepared for Imo Governorship race. I don’t joke with Kingdom investment. When you partner with God and he says go – He will back you up.”

Akagburuonye, who praised Governor Hope Uzodimma as God’s-sent, for his developmental strides in the State and maintaining the charter of equity to hand over to Owerri Zone, prayed that God would help him to choose his Successor aright, pledging that he would support whosoever he chooses.

Chief Akagburuonye, the Akaraugo 1 of Igboland, who is also an Engineer, highlighted some of the empowerment programmes he has executed through his Foundation – Hope Rising Foundation, charging the Stakeholders to come up with a sustainable empowerment project the Foundation would undertake for their respective communities.

Political Adviser to Akagburuonye, Hon. Eddy Obinna, assured the audience that his Principal is a man to beat in the Governorship contest, noting that he has a large war chest and a an unrepentant Kingdom Investor, declaring that by God’s Grace “our governor, who is our boss, who is our leader, will look towards his direction.”
