The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) and the FGN Power Company have pledged to strengthen collaboration aimed at improving safety, technical standards, and boosting inspection processes across Nigeria’s power sector.

This position was reiterated by the MD/CEO NEMSA Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Engr. Olusegun Adesayo, during a courtesy visit by the management of FGN Power Company, led by its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Kenny Anuwe, to the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja, recently.

In a statement issued by Mrs. Ama Umoren, Head of Public Affairs, Engr. Adesayo emphasized that strong institutional collaboration remains vital to achieving sustainable growth and improved performance in the electricity industry.

“The importance of working together cannot be overemphasized. In this era of collaboration, we all serve the same national interest and must align our efforts to achieve collective success. FGN Power Company is a strategic partner in the growth of the industry, particularly through its management of critical power assets and contributions to improving generation capacity and infrastructure optimization,” he stated.

He further commended FGN Power Company for its sustained contributions to the development of Nigeria’s electricity value chain and reaffirmed NEMSA’s readiness to sustain a productive and mutually beneficial relationship.

Engr. Olusegun Adesayo noted that NEMSA remains committed to ensuring compliance with technical standards and safeguarding lives and property through its statutory mandate of enforcing safety regulations in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

In his remarks, Mr. Kenny Anuwe stated that the visit was to congratulate the new leadership of NEMSA and to reaffirm FGN Power Company’s commitment to closer collaboration with the Agency.

He highlighted that the partnership would focus on strengthening transmission and distribution capacity, enhancing capacity development for operators, mobilizing financing for key programmes, and improving coordination among stakeholders.

“NEMSA has played a significant role in supporting our operations, and we deeply appreciate the critical role the Agency continues to play in ensuring safety and compliance within the sector,” he said.

Mr. Anuwe added that FGN Power Company was established by the Federal Government to implement the Presidential Power Initiative, aimed at transforming Nigeria’s power infrastructure and improving electricity supply nationwide.
