The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, religious harmony and peaceful coexistence as Christians across the country celebrate Easter.

In a goodwill message issued in Abuja on Sunday, the former Senate President described Easter as a season symbolising sacrifice, hope, renewal and the triumph of light over darkness. He urged citizens to reflect on the virtues of love, selflessness and forgiveness as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Mark stressed the need for Nigerians, irrespective of religious, ethnic or political affiliations, to promote mutual respect and national cohesion, noting that the country’s diversity should be a source of strength rather than division.

He also appealed to citizens to remain calm and law-abiding, emphasising the importance of sustaining peace and stability across the nation.

The ADC chairman used the occasion to reassure Nigerians about the state of his party, insisting that the party remains strong, united and focused despite recent challenges.

According to him, the setbacks experienced by the party are temporary and have instead strengthened its resolve to uphold democratic values and deliver good governance.

“ADC remains focused and unwavering in its mission to enthrone democratic ethos, uphold the rule of law, and provide purposeful leadership that addresses the needs and aspirations of Nigerians,” he said.

Mark expressed confidence in the future of the party and reaffirmed his commitment to leading the ADC to victory in the 2027 general elections.
