NNPC Limited and the Dangote Group have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s energy security and driving economic growth.

The renewed partnership followed a high-level facility visit by the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, and his management team to the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.

During the visit, both organisations held extensive discussions focusing on enhancing operational and commercial ties in line with their shared vision for Nigeria’s energy future.

Ojulari commended Aliko Dangote for delivering the largest refinery in Africa, with 650,000 barrels-per-day production capacity, describing the project as transformative and pivotal to positioning Nigeria as a major downstream hub in Africa.

He said the strategic alliance would unlock synergies across assets, infrastructure, capital and markets, while providing clearer visibility into NNPC-Dangote business relations.

The NNPC chief also highlighted opportunities to expand collaboration into upstream operations, trading, shipping and gas supply, noting that the partnership holds vast potential for growth across the energy value chain.

Ojulari further hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policy reforms and investor-friendly initiatives that have created an enabling environment for large-scale energy investments and partnerships.

NNPC Ltd, which holds a 7.25 percent stake in the Dangote Refinery, said the investment aligns with its downstream growth objectives as both companies pledged to deepen cooperation to ensure energy security, industrial expansion and greater value for Nigerians.
