Troops neutralise Boko Haram Commander, arrest suspected drone supplier in Adamawa

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, in coordination with local vigilantes and hunters, have neutralised a top Boko Haram commander and arrested a suspected drone and logistics supplier in separate operations in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

According to operational reports, the success was recorded on Thursday during intensified clearance and ambush operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and enhancing security across the North East.

At about 5:30 p.m., troops engaged suspected Boko Haram fighters in an ambush along the Visik River line. During the encounter, one terrorist identified as Abdullahi Mafa, a former hybrid commander operating in an ambush along the Visik River line. In a follow-up operation at Madagali Motor Park around 6:30 p.m., troops arrested a 64-year-old suspected Boko Haram collaborator, Dauda Usman Gubula, believed to be involved in supplying drones and other logistics to the terrorists.

Security sources disclosed that items recovered from the suspect include two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks, which were allegedly meant to support terrorist activities in the area.

The suspect is currently in military custody undergoing preliminary investigation, while efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the network.

The military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining offensive operations in collaboration with local security stakeholders to degrade terrorist capabilities and restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
