The former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has sent a strong message to election officials ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a public gathering in Akwa Ibom State, Obi warned that anyone who fails to properly count votes will be held accountable by the people.

He also called on electoral officers and political actors to act with integrity.

According to him, Nigeria cannot progress if election results do not reflect the choice of the people.

The former governor reminded supporters that credible elections are the foundation of good governance.

He said 2027 must mark a turning point for transparency and fairness in the country’s electoral system.

Obi’s political journey has been shaped by disputes over internal party processes.

He left the Peoples Democratic Party before the 2023 election due to disagreements over its presidential nomination procedure.

Peter Obi later joined the Labour Party and contested the 2023 presidential election on its platform.

His campaign gained massive support, especially among young Nigerians, and focused strongly on accountability and clean governance. (Peoples Voice)
