A private jet operated by Flybird Airlines, purportedly owned by the running mate to Perer Obi in the 2023 presidential poll and proprietor of Baze University,  Sen. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed,  crash landed at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on Sunday morning, triggering brief panic at the facility.

The aircraft, which flew in from Abuja, was carrying 11 people, including three crew members, when the incident occurred about 9:30 a.m. witnesses told Independent.

Passengers were safely evacuated moments after the landing, and no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Airport authorities swiftly cordoned off the area as emergency response teams moved in to secure the scene and commence preliminary investigations into the cause of the incident.
