The National Youth Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ambassador Auwal Muhammad Musa, has challenged the new INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, to match his declarations of integrity and transparency with genuine, measurable action. In an open letter, Musa expressed skepticism about INEC’s ability to deliver free, fair, and transparent elections, citing past unfulfilled promises and compromised elections.

Musa urged INEC to ensure transparent procurement, open logistics reporting, and firm disciplinary measures against any staff caught engaging in malpractice. He highlighted the forthcoming Anambra governorship election as a test of Amupitan’s credibility and readiness to deliver credible elections.

Key demands include, transparent updates on election materials movement, effective coordination with security agencies and transport unions, Publication of polling officials’ names and deployment locations

– Full functionality of BVAS and IReV

– Unhindered access for accredited observers and party agents

Musa also recommended establishing youth liaison offices, running digital voter education campaigns, and publishing simplified guides on vote processing and transmission. He emphasized that integrity must be demonstrated, not declared, and urged INEC to adopt measurable standards for evaluating its performance.
