At least eight people were allegedly killed and more than 20 others wounded on Sunday when bandits invaded Wakeh and Gadaneji villages in Agunu Ward of Kachia Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna state.

The attackers were also reported to have abducted an unspecified number of residents during the early morning raid, according to local accounts.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, in a post on X, said the assailants carried out a “deadly assault” on Wakeh, leaving several dead and scores injured, with some victims in critical condition.

A security operative, who spoke on condition of anonymity with Blueprint confirmed the incident but declined to give details of casualties or kidnappings.

Several calls on phone to the Chairman of Kachia LGA, Hon. Manzo Daniel Maigari, wasn’t successful, but a release by his media aide, Daniel Gideon via his official Facebook page said the local government chairman visited victims receiving treatment at St. Gerard Hospital, Kaduna, alongside his vice chairman, Hon. Hussaini Abdullahi, and the member representing Kachia in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Peter Agite.
