The Military under the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have again recorded a major success in the fight against insurgency with the elimination of two top Boko Haram commanders and 11 of their fighters in Borno State.

According to military sources, the operation followed intense clashes earlier in the week and was executed through coordinated ground and air offensives.

The terrorists, who attempted attacks on Bitta and Wulgo communities were decisively repelled by the troops.

During the fierce exchange in Wulgo, two high-ranking commanders of the terror group identified as Abu Nazir, also known as the Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, the Munzir of Koloram, were neutralised.

Eleven other insurgents were also killed in the operation.

Troops recovered a cache of arms from the scene, including AK-47 rifles, large quantities of ammunition, and six motorcycles used by the terrorists.

The military high command has commended the gallant of the troops for their bravery and urged them to sustain the momentum in on-going counterinsurgency operations across the North-East.

This latest success is seen as another significant step in efforts to restore peace and security in the region.
