Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has tongue lashed Gov Charles Soludo and his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for scrambling to take over the seat of murdered State’s lawmaker.
The APC standard bearer in the November 8 governorship election stated that the Onitsha North lawmaker who was murdered while going home for Christmas tells volumes about the colossal failure of Gov Soludo in the protection of lives of the citizens.
Prince Ukachukwu popularly called Ikukuoma in the political circle noted that the ugly situation is making Ndi-Anambra and residents alike to endorse his candidature in the November 8 polls.
Ikukuoma berated APGA for fielding a candidate for the Onitsha North 1 State Constituency’s coming August 16, 2025 bye-election to replace the late Hon Justice Azuka, who was kidnapped on December 24, while returning to his hometown Onitsha for Christmas celebrations. He was later found murdered many weeks after.
He wondered why APGA should field a candidate to replace a lawmaker murdered as a result of insecurity in the state.
“How do they feel about all the people who have died, disappeared without trace, assassinated or kidnapped as a result of insecurity in Anambra State under the APGA regime of Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
“They do not care about people’s security as politics is more important to APGA than the lives of anyone. If you die as a result of insecurity by their government, they will just move on.
“Security is very paramount, and we will use various methods to safeguard our people when we take over the state,” Ukachukwu said.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party(LP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have teamed up to field a the wife of the late LP lawmaker on the platform of ADC, as their sole candidate, while APGA is fielding Ifeoma Azikiwe.
