…eyes CNG business integration

BY SAM OTUONYE

The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Telmek Energy Solution, Engr. Kazeem Opejin has stated that the firm is delivering steady, clean and affordable electricity to homes, businesses and institutions with cutting edge technology and profound expertise.

In a country where the challenges of electricity generation and distribution seem unending, as grid failures, equipment vandalisation and perennial power outages have become the norm, an indigenous private energy company boasts of generating and distributing almost a 100 per cent electricity.

Engr. Opejin, who doubles as the CTO of Smart Energy Solution, a subsidiary of Telmek, made the disclosure at the ongoing Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) Conference in Abuja, to select Journalists.

He said that they generate and distribute 98 per cent electricity to their clients, even as he decried the poor service delivery of some electricity distribution companies.

“As I stay in VI (Victoria Island, Lagos), I am in Band A, they don’t give us light (regularly) but people we supply light we give them light 98%,” Opejin highlighted.

The CTO revealed that they are diversifying into Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) through the subsidiary – Smart Energy Solution, so as to produce gas and supply for power generation.

He said: “At the moment we are setting up our CNG mother stations and daughter stations so we can be able to produce CNG and give out supply for power generation and the daughter stations where gas can be refilled.”

Opejin commended President Bola Tinubu CNG initiative, stating that energy mix is looking great because people have been relying on diesel engine for generating power. He noted that the gas mix is cheaper, more efficient and environmentally friendly.
