Following the controversy rocking the results of the just concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has admitted it erred in its process.

JAMB’s registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing on Wednesday, said he takes responsibility for the errors encountered by candidates.

“As the registrar of Jamb, I hold myself personally responsible, especially for the negligence of the service provider,” Oloyede said.

According to the JAMB registrar, before the examination, the board ensured that all necessary machinery was adequately put in place.

“We set all the machineries in order, regardless, there were still errors,” a teary Oloyede admitted.

He also stated that candidates affected, particularly those who wrote the examination in centres across Lagos and the South-East region, will have to rewrite their papers.
