Army honour retired officers in 82 Division

The Nigerian Army has honoured year 2021 retired officers in the rank of Colonel and below residing in 82 Division area of responsibility. The officers were honoured during a regimental dinner night held on saturday evening at Abakpa Cantonment Enugu.

The Special Guest of Honour Maj Gen Donald Oji (retired) advised the retired officers to view retirement as a phase of life that required more patrotism and discipline. He congratulated them for attaining this milestone hale and hearty.

In his goodwill message, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya commeded the retired officers for the remarkable achievements they made while in active service to the nation through the Army.

Gen Yahaya who was representated by the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja urged the retirees never to rest on their oars in supporting the military to win all wars against insecurity across the country.

Responding on behalf of the retired officers, Lieutenant Colonel Chukwuma Okoh (retired) thanked the Nigerian Army for the honour extended to them and their families. He assured the Chief of Army Staff of their readiness to always support the Army when need arise.
