As delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) elect the candidate that will fly the flag of the party in the next general election, governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has boasted that he is the only candidate that can defeat the ruling party in the election,

In his speech at the National Convention taking place at the Abuja National Velodrome, Wike reminded the delegates that he has remained faithful to the party since its formation in 1999 adding that the delegates should reward him for his loyalty by electing him as the next flag presidential flag bearer.

He said, “I have remained in this party since its formation. Before we lost election in 2015, while others abandoned the party, remained there.

“If the party truly want to defeat the APC in 2023, then the delegates should elect me. I have the capacity to defeat them. I know what to do to defeat them. INEC cannot upturn the result if I win the election” he boasted.

Wike who was the last to speak among the aspirant said that PDP will make history by voting for him and giving him the opportunity to face the APC.
