Anambra State Service Commanders comprising the Army from 302 Artillery Regiment (GS), the Navy from the Naval Outpost, Department of State Security (DSS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Customs and Anambra State Vigilante led by the Police in a close meeting on Thursday, at the Office of the State Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu in Akwa, unanimously set up a formidable force against crimes in the State code-named *Operations Udo Ga Chi* – Zero Kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State.

According to the Command’s Spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the timing of this operation, coinciding with the Easter season celebrations, underscored the Security Force’s dedication to maintaining peace and security during festive periods and beyond.

Ikenga said the initiative aimed to prevent all violent and/or related crimes, especially kidnapping, by ensuring a safer environment for residents and visitors during this Easter period and beyond.

“The Operations shall focus on Community engagement, working closely with the public to gather intelligence and prevent crimes, fostering trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community.

“It is also a commitment to a proactive policing strategy, that is community-based and community driven to tackle security challenges in Anambra State.

“To this end, the CP noted that by working together, the Police aims to create a safer and more secure environment for all”, he said.
