The Anambra Security Outfit; Agunechemba Security Squad yesterday smashed a gunmen Armoury at Enugu- Agidi in Njikoka local government area of Anambra state .
Similarly gunmen operating in Umunze Community in Orumba South local government area are said to have fled their camps following the arrest of the kidnap kingpins in the area last week.
Security operatives confirmed that the kingpin that was arrested was alleged to have been part of the gang that kidnapped a woman and his son and later killed them despite paying ransom of about N10 Million.
The fleeing of the gunmen appears to be the reason behind some shops that have been under lock and key as it was gathered that most of those shops are owned by the suspected gunmen.
The security operatives also arrested one of the gang leaders of the gunmen at Enugu Agidi who specializes in kidnapping and armed robbery in the area.
According to the Agunechemba News Bulletin from the office of the Special Adviser to Gov Charles Soludo on Community Security Prince Kenneth Emeakayi;
“The Agunechemba Security Squad has busted Kidnappers hideout at Enugu – Agidi in Njikoka local government area of Anambra state ”
“One of it’s gang leaders one Mr Chukwudi Tansi was also arrested at the hideout while other members are still at large ”
“Items recovered from the gang’s Armoury include the following;
“Two AK47 Rifles, two pump action guns , four locally made pistols , three packets of cartridges totality 101 ”
“Others include four empty magazines of AK47 Rifles three cutlasses, forty seven Rifles , one Baofeng Radio , one motorcycle and some charms”
Continuing the Bulletin explained that the raiding of the hideout was as a result of viral information at the disposal of the Security Squad by members of the public in the area.
The Squad further noted that they are deep in a sustained manhunt for the fleeing suspected gunmen promising that in no distant time they all would be apprehended.
