Following heightened insecurity in the region, Governors from the Northern States of the country on Thursday met with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and service chiefs in his office.
Details of the meeting were unavailable as at press time, but it came amidst the recent resurgence of mass abductions of students from schools and other individuals in separate parts of the North.
Terrorists had on March 7, abducted 287 students from the LEA Primary and Junior Secondary School, Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Also, 112 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were abducted by terrorists at Gamboru Ngala in Borno State, while 15 students were also recently abducted in Sokoto State.
