*Reiterates commitment to effective and accountable representation
The Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Sen. Kelvin Chukwu, has expressed his determination to inspire and make people from Enugu-East proud of their heritage through effective and accountable representation.
Sen. Chukwu stated this while interfacing with all his appointees in Enugu.
According to him, it is time for the people of the zone to feel the impact of quality and accountable representation to justify the confidence reposed on him as their senator.
He described the meeting as the first in a series of meetings that would be holding from time to time and urged the appointees to key into “putting the people first” agenda in order to build a united and prosperous Enugu-East Senatorial Zone.
He enjoined them to see their appointments as opportunity to render selfless service to God and humanity.
Chukwu who also appreciated his constituents for the show of love and the great confidence reposed in him during the electioneering process, urged the appointees to put on their thinking caps, promising to be open to ideas and opinions that will assist him in representing the zone effectively.
“We have not been called to a competition; we have been called to a collaboration, and to make this collaboration possible, we must bond together, we must marry our hearts together, and we must pursue the same objective.” he stressed.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Prof. Denchris Onah, appreciated Chukwu for the appointments, describing it as the first of its kind in the history of Enugu-East Senatorial zone.
He noted that he had at several times declined offers of appointment as commissioner, but choose to play this advisory role because of the Senator’s sincerity of purpose and commitment to effective and accountable representation.
The eminent Professor and teacher enjoins other appointees be the ears and eyes of the senator.
