The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo has approved the appointments of Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, as Acting Vice-Chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU).
Mr Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the governor disclosed this in a statement.
Prof. Omenugha replaces Prof. Greg C. Nwakoby, following the expiration of his tenure as Vice-Chancellor.
She is the second female Professor of Mass Communication in Nigeria and a Professor in the Department Mass communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Prof. Omenugha is the immediate-past Commissioner for Education/Basic Education in Anambra State for eight consecutive years.
She studied in Nigeria and the United Kingdom(UK) clinching diverse degrees in English, Religion, Education, Communication, Gender and Cultural Studies.
The new VC is also an alumna of Harvard Kennedy School, Boston, United States.
Her foray into both local and international scenes gave he global outlook.
