The National Assembly Houses election petition tribunal sitting at Awka, Anambra State has dismissed the petition filed by Johnbosco Onunkwor of All Progressives Congress (APC) against Dominic Ifeanyichukwu Okafor of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) over the Aguata Federal Constituency Election held on 25th February, 2023.
The Court while delivering the judgement in a petition No.EPT/AN/HR/22/2023 filed by the petitioner Engr Johnbosco Onunkwor against Engr Dominic Ifeanyichukwu Okafor FNSE, APGA and Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), noted that the petitioner failed woefully to prove their cases against the respondents.
The court therefore dismissed their claims and awarded each of the three respondents (Engr. Dominic Okafor, APGA & INEC) the sum of One hundred thousand Naira (N100,000) against the petitioner.
Engr Dominic Okafor, in his response to the judgement thanked God Almighty who made it possible and also thanked the good people of Aguata Federal Constituency for giving him their mandate and renewed his commitment to bring home dividends of democracy that accrue to them.
Furthermore, he extended the hands of fellowship to the petitioner, High Chief Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwor who he said is a friend ,a professional colleague and a fellow Rotarian and urged him to join hands with him to bring more dividends of democracy to the good people of Aguata Federal Constituency.
