The President-Elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Monday evening, returned to the country into the ecstatic embrace of his supporters following more than one month of travel abroad.

The president-elect arrived in the company of his wife, Oluremi, at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to a rousing welcome by party faithful and supporters who had been anticipating his arrival.

The Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, was among the supporters and top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who received Tinubu.

He was received by a tumultuous crowd of supporters who chanted solidarity solidarity to welcome him.

Tinubu left the country more than a month ago with a claim by his media handlers that he was going for a rest and to prepare and pray in Saudi Arabia ahead of his inauguration as president.

It was, however, not confirmed if he went to Saudi Arabia as promised.

His media office had said:

“The president-elect decided to take a break after the hectic campaign and election season to rest in Paris and London, preparatory to going to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) and the Ramadan Fasting that begins Thursday.”

The president-elect waved enthusiastically to the hundreds of supporters that welcomed him as he deplaned from the private jet that brought him back.
