The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has endorsed the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, in the forthcoming General Election.

The endorsement was made public at the Ijaw House, Yenaoga, Bayesla State Thursday morning in the course of an interactive session with the apex Ijaw socio cultural body.

The Ijaw nation spread from Sierra Leone to Gabon and dominates the Bayelsa State population and have sizeable populations in Delta, Rivers and Ondo States, can also be found in their large numbers around the coastal areas of Nigeria.

They have a population strength of about 4 million which could be about 2% of the Nigeria’s National population.
