The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), in collaboration with the Kaduna State Urban and Regional Planning Agency (KASUPDA), have enforced Right-of-Way (RoW) compliance through a demolition exercise carried out along the Kudenda axis of the Mando–Mando 330kV Double Circuit Transmission Line.
TCN in a statement posted on its X handle formerly known as Twitter, said the enforcement exercise, carried out on March 23, 2026, targeted structures along the Kudenda axis of the Mando–Mando 330kV Double Circuit Transmission Line, which had violated the statutory corridor designated for the power infrastructure.
TCN also hinted that the action became necessary to safeguard the integrity of the national grid and ensure the safe and efficient transmission of bulk electricity across the network.
The company noted that all Project Affected Persons (PAPs) within the corridor had been duly compensated in 2021 but failed to vacate the area as required.
“It is pertinent to note that all Project Affected Persons (PAPs) within the corridor were duly compensated in 2021 but failed to vacate the area,” TCN stated.
Following a verification process to confirm that all legal obligations had been fulfilled, TCN, with support from KASUPDA and security operatives, proceeded with the demolition to secure the project site and ensure the safe and efficient transmission of bulk electricity.
The latest enforcement forms part of a broader effort by TCN to address encroachment on transmission corridors nationwide, with similar exercises recently carried out in most parts of the country.
The company has consistently warned that illegal structures along power line routes pose significant risks to infrastructure, public safety, and the stability of electricity supply.
