Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North in the National Assembly, has strongly rejected a viral video that appears to show him giving a woman a foot massage on board a private jet.

The short clip began circulating earlier this week on social media platforms such as X, Instagram and TikTok. Within hours, it spread widely and triggered strong reactions from many Nigerians. Several people criticised what they believed was a show of luxury, especially at a time when many citizens are struggling with economic hardship and rising costs of living.

Online reports also claimed that the woman in the video is a South African lifestyle influencer and adult content creator. This claim added more controversy to the issue, with debates growing around privilege, accountability and the personal behaviour of public officials.

However, the senator’s media office quickly responded and rejected the clip. The team insisted that the footage was not real and had been digitally created to mislead the public.

In their statement, they described it as a “poorly crafted and edited fake AI video” made by people with bad intentions who want to blackmail the senator and damage his reputation.

The statement also pointed to what it called clear technical errors in the video. According to the team, there are visible flaws around the 0:06-second mark in the nearly 30-second clip, which they say show signs of artificial intelligence use and digital manipulation.

Senator Oshiomhole’s aides appealed to the public, journalists and social media users to ignore the video entirely. They stressed that the footage is false and does not show any real incident involving the lawmaker.
