Less than three weeks to the Area Councils election, the chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, is gathering momentum as more than 5,000 residents of the municipality pledged their loyalty to his candidature.

The supporters which cut across different ethnic nationalities, residents in AMAC, yesterday threw their support for Maikalangu because, according to them, he has performed more than most former chairmen in AMAC.

Mallam Yunusa Maikano, who spoke on behalf of the Support Group at the campaign office of Maikalangu, said within the past few years, there has been transformation in infrastructure and provision of social amenities to the residents.

He said in the area of road construction and Rehabilitation, Maikalangu administration has rehabilitated Durumi Access Road, opp. Prince & Princess Estate with Solar Light.

He also carried out the rehabilitation of Mondic Road at Gwagwa Community; rehabilitation of Chief Palace Road, Gbagalape, among others.

As regards water projects,  the support group explained that Maikalangu has been able to provide  comprehensive boreholes at Dangma District, did Comprehensive Community Motorized Borehole at Durumi, Comprehensive Borehole at Kagini Community,  mini Type C Borehole at Nyanya Area F; provision of Solar Power Borehole at Kakoipa, etc.
