Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed strong confidence in his re-election bid, declaring that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state remains united, stable, and fully behind him.

Speaking to journalists shortly after appearing before the PDP Governorship Screening Committee at the PDP Legacy House in Abuja on Thursday, Adeleke dismissed claims of internal wrangling within the Osun PDP, insisting that his leadership has fostered unity and progress.

“First of all, we don’t have any wranglings in Osun State. The PDP in Osun, we are number one; we are one family; everything is going on well. There’s no fighting, no division, everybody is working together for the success of the party,” he said.

The governor, popularly known as Imole, said his administration’s record of performance in less than two years will guarantee victory at the polls.

“Why should I be scared? I’m too popular! Anywhere I go, people love me. If I can defeat an incumbent, imagine now that I’m the governor. Within two years, it’s unprecedented what we have achieved. Nobody can beat us in Osun,” Adeleke stated.

He highlighted his administration’s focus on infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and technology-driven governance, urging citizens to verify his claims independently.

“We are in a technology era. You can just Google it and check out what is happening in Osun. We are doing very well in roads, in salaries, in education, in digital governance. I introduced what we call fact-checking; go and check the facts,” he stated.

On the forthcoming election, Adeleke said he was confident that the process would be credible and free from undue interference.

“During my first election, the so-called federal might was there, I saw the equipment, I saw the resources. But now, I don’t think the President will want to do something that will mess the administration up because my election will come before the presidential election. I believe everything will be free and fair,” he added.

The governor said he intends to build on his achievements if re-elected.

“This time, it’s more goodies all the way — more development, more empowerment, more happiness for the people of Osun,” he said. “We’ll be dancing and we’ll be working. That’s my style — work hard, deliver results, and celebrate with my people.”
