The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has flagged off the rehabilitation of the 15km Old Keffi road, from Kado village – Dei-Dei junction, as part of the administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure.
During the exercise, on Tuesday, he said the project is in fulfilment of the promised made by President Bola Tinubu to the residents and traders in the area.
Wike stated that upon Tinubu’s assumption of office in 2023, one of the emergency road projects he immediately approved was the rehabilitation of the Saburi 1 and Saburi 2 roads. Following the project’s inauguration, he recognized the need to also include the old Keffi road, which has been in existence since the colonial era, in the rehabilitation efforts.
The minister explained that when the road is completed it will bring about transformation of the area.
He said, “By the time this road is completed, you will see the transformation it will bring. I urge you to continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is a government that makes promises and fulfills them.
“For instance, we have awarded the total rehabilitation of Government Secondary School, Dei-Dei. Out of 103 schools, 73 are currently under construction, and 33 more will soon be flagged off. Out of 105 projects, 73 are within AMAC.
“So, I urge you, do not be deceived by people who come with empty stories. Seeing is believing. You can see the results for yourselves”
In her remarks, the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr Mariya Mahmoud applauded Tinubu for his continuous support to infrastructure renewal, and for prioritizing projects that touch the lives of ordinary citizens.
She staid the project was yet another testimony of Mr. President’s vision of delivering roads that promote connectivity, accessibility, and economic growth in the FCT.
