Bam Microfinance Bank Plc has elected Mr. John Ushahemba Pilaku, as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, following the bank’s Annual General Meeting held on August 16, 2025, at Vamem Restaurant, Abuja.
Mr. Pilaku, a seasoned strategic administration expert, with over two decades experience in institutional development and financial accountability, was first elected as a Director and subsequently appointed Chairman of the bank, according to a statement by the bank.
His appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in his vision for inclusive financial empowerment, governance excellence, and sustainable transformation.
Joining the Board alongside Mr. Pilaku is Dr. Eugene Ivase, whose expertise in development finance and community engagement further strengthens the Bank’s leadership team.
Their appointments mark a renewed commitment to strategic growth, financial inclusion, and community empowerment.
They succeed Dr. Emmanuel Gemade, former Chairman, and Mrs. Eunice Iorchor, both of whom have retired after distinguished services.
Aside Mr. Pilaku, other members of the Board include, Mr. Emmanuel Aza, Dr. Eugene Ivase, Mrs. Sewuese Martha Tyoachimin, and Mrs. Liz Kpam Ahua.
Mr. Pilaku currently serves as Executive Director of AFRICADASI,; Chairman/CEO, JOLIDO Business Solutions, and holds board positions with TAConnect L/GTE and Radio Maria Development Initiative.
He is a Fellow of the Certified National Accountants and holds memberships in several professional bodies.
He is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at the Swiss International Management Academy and is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
