The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully energized a 60MVA transformer at the Bauchi 132/33kV transmission substation under the Jos Sub-Region.

The new transformer, energized on August 7, 2025, increases the substation’s capacity by 48MW, raising the total capacity to 144MW, thereby enabling enhanced bulk power transmission to the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) for distribution to its customers.

The project is part of the World Bank funded initiatives in collaboration with TCN.
