The former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, vowed never to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), boasting that he’s the record holder of election results in the state.

Fayose stated this while
speaking during the APC governorship campaign rally in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

The former Ekiti governor had earlier endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abayomi Oyebanji for a second term.

But, Fayose, who is a chieftain of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urged the electorate in the state to cast their votes for Oyebanji in the upcoming governorship election.

He said, “I Ayo Fayose, I’m the record holder of the results of the elections, I defeated the last person, I don’t mention names because I’m a gentleman.

“In the whole of the 16 LGAs, I packed all and I also defeated them in over 58 Wards, I defeated them roundly and they congratulated me.

“But, I will remove all those titles and hand them over to BOA and for him to become the record holder to win in all the 16 LGAs of Ekiti and win in all the 177 Wards that is taken for granted, but when we get to the field, we will contend and see each other on the filed.

“Please do your best to make this election a reality. One thing that won my heart the most is the presence of Segun Oni.

“He is the icing on the cake, coming to put us all together by governor BAO to face tomorrow for our state. It’s a good thing and it would be a model for all states in Nigeria.

“I equally congratulate all the defectors, they should keep defecting but I will never join APC.”
