Notorious kidnapper Wasiu Oloyede arrested in Ogun after abducting a soldier

A notorious leader of a kidnapping gang, Wasiu Oloyede, has been arrested in Ogun State.

The suspect was was apprehended by police at Odo Pako area of Ota on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Oloyede’s gang had kidnapped a soldier in Alagbado, Lagos, on Friday, July 18, stealing his uniform, ID card, ATM cards, and phone.

The soldier however managed to escape.

Oloyede attempted to use the stolen uniform to deceive and overpower a Vigilante member, trying to snatch his dane gun.

However, his plan was foiled, and he was arrested.
