The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has taken a fourth wife, Hiqma Yahaya-Bello, in a private ceremony held in Abuja on Saturday.
The event was held away from the public spotlight.
The wedding took place in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory.
It was devoid of fanfare, with only close family and associates present.Confirming the marriage, Bello’s third wife, Hafiza Yahaya-Bello, took to Instagram to welcome the new bride.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving!
“A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello!
“May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin,” she wrote.
Hiqma joins the ranks of Bello’s other wives: his first wife, Amina Oyiza; the second, wife Rasheedat and the third, Hafiza, who was most publicly visible during his tenure as governor.
Yahaya Bello who served as Kogi State governor from 2016 to 2024, is currently facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged money laundering involving N80.2 billion.
He recently applied to the court trying him for alleged graft to release his traveling documents to enable him embark on medical tour overseas.
