Forum of State Chairmen, African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed confidence and satisfaction with the process and activities of the part’s interim leadership of the coalition led by Sen. David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola.

The forum chairman, Kingsley Ogga during an interaction with the journalists after a meeting with the new leadership of the party, expressed satisfaction with the leadership of the party, noting that all the state chairmen were carried along during the coalition talks that has been on for about three years.

He said, “We have been on this process for almost three years now. We have been carried along on what they are going to do, how they are going to do it.

“We sat down together, we deliberated together. That is how we did it before we came to this particular point we are at now.

“Yes, every one of us, everybody because everybody was carried along. We were all carried along and we were part of it. And we have also supported what is coming up now.

He said that the entire chairmen owe their allegiance to the current leadership of the ADC adding that there is no dissenting voice among them.

Earlier in his remarks, the acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi said that the meeting was convened to reassure the state chairmen that the leadership of the party will work with them throughout the rebuilding process to the conversion and congresses.

“We have invited all the state chairman to this meeting to reassure them that we don’t have any intention to push them away. 37 state chairmen including FCT were present here. And the purpose is to dispel all kind of falsehood and rumours that have been going around the country that we have come to take over this party from them and to push them away.

“We don’t have any intention to shove them off. We are here to work with them as partners to build a stronger political party.

“And they are assured and they are going to leave Abuja today more confident than they were yesterday that they are partners in the building of this coalition”.

On the statement credited to Dumebi Kachukwu, the party’s presidential candidate in 2023 who dismissed the coalition and the new leadership of ADC, saying that the process leading to the new leadership was faulty, he responded

“A presidential candidate is not an officer of the party. A presidential candidate is just someone, a member of the party. We are on a solid legal ground. And if anyone has any evidence to show that we have violated our own constitution, we are open to be challenged. No member of ADC has disagreed with the process so far”.

Present at the meeting were 37 state chairmen including that of the FCT, ADC Acting Chairman Sen. David Mark, Senator Representing FCT in the National Assembly Sen. Ireti Gingibe, former Cross River State governor Liel Imoke and other party supporters.
