*Makes case for Umumba-Ndiagu road

Anambra multi-billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze, has commended what he called unprecedented road rehabilitation efforts by Governor Peter Mbah, encouraging him not to relent in re-writing the history of neglected communities in Enugu State.

The Oil Magnet, who recently visited his friend, Engr. Wilfred Okeke (Wilangy), said he made case for the Umumba-Ndiagu community road in Ezeagu Local Government Area during the May 29th second year anniversary of Gov. Peter in Enugu.

He said that he has visited the area
more than three times expressing regrets that successive governments had allowed the people of the area to suffer untold hardship due to bad roads.

“I had visited Umumba-Ndiagu, the country home of my friend, Engr Wilfred Okeke, more than three times. During my last visit, I was moved to tears on the sufferings of the people of Umumba-Ndiagu.

“For decades no government intervention in the whole town. Those people were completely forgotten because they live in the border of Anambra and Enugu. Both states could not absorb the community.

“Before a pregnant woman could access medical care, she must join bicycle to Ebenebe in Awka-North, some die on their way to the hospital,” he recounted.

Prince Eze who appreciated the limited resources available to the governor, said he will contribute money to make the community have access to their town during rainy season.

He stated that the bad condition of the road also makes police intervention in security issues in the community extremely difficult.

“For bringing smiles to the rural people through aggressive road rehabilitation, you are writing your name in gold; posterity will surely remember this uncommon intervention,” Prince Arthur Eze stated.

He called for continued support for Governor Mbah from the people of the State especially the people of Ndiagu-Umumba, “for I am convinced he will soon move the bulldozers and caterpillars to end your sufferings.

“The governor is my friend, I made the passionate appeal and I know him; he is a man of few words who believes more in action”.

Eze also commended his friend,, Engr Okeke (Wilangy), for his philanthropy and assistance to his people of Ndiagu-Umumba and the periodic grading of the roads as a palliative measure, which he carries out from time to time.

Okeke he said, also gave out scholarships and bursary awards to indigent students in the area, as well as assisting the local churches financially. (Courtesy: Everyday newsngr.com)
