The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, approves an extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement.

The new deadline is now August 12, 2025.

In a statement, the force says the decision follows public concerns and feedback on the recently reactivated digital Tinted Glass Permit application process.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing, emphasizing that public input plays a key role in improving the system to ensure it is user-friendly, secure, and accessible.

The extended grace period allows more time for system upgrades and application process improvements.

The NPF is currently enhancing both physical and online options with streamlined verification steps to reduce delays and eliminate unnecessary hassles.

Citizens are reminded to apply or renew permits via possap.gov.ng, and to report any unauthorized charges or extortion to police authorities or through the hotline: 09169967000.
