*Launch more than 100 drones towards Israel

An Israeli military spokesperson said Iran has launched more than 100 drones towards Israel in the last few hours, after the country vowed retaliation for Israel’s strikes.

The spokesperson said 200 Israeli fighter jets took part in the strikes on more than 100 targets in Iran overnight.

Israel is in for a “rough few hours”, they said, according to Reuters.

Air raid sirens preventatively rang out in Israel as the country prepared for retaliation.

Vowing revenge for the attack in the immediate aftermath, Iran’s supreme leader said Israel “must await severe punishment.”

“The Zionist regime has brought a bitter and painful fate upon itself, and it will certainly face it,” he said.

The head of the country’s Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, has been killed, along with Major General Gholam Ali Rashid.
