BY SAM OTUONYE

Chief Barr. Obioma Success Akagburuonye, has urged the people of Imo State to always count on him to render a sacrificial service to them at every level of need, noting that his leadership to Imolites is one entrenched in service.

Engr. Akagburuonye, who applauded the Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, for the great works he is doing for the state, which he said some of his predecessors could not achieve, noted that he is a “God-sent leader.”

He made reference to the recent Award of Infrastructure Governor of the Year, bestowed on Gov. Uzodimma by Vanguard Newspapers, which according to him, is a mark of national recognition of his outstanding achievements. He urged the members of Aboh Mbaise APC to remember the Governor in their prayers to enable him complete the good works.

He commended the Aboh Mbaise Council Chairman Barr. Iheukwumere Alaribe and the party Chairman, Hon. Tony Awusaku on their effective leadership and convening the well-attended stakeholders meeting.

In a show of solidarity, the former House of Assembly member representing Aboh Mbaise State Constituency and Commissioner representing Owerri zone at IMSUBEB, also a political adviser to Barr. Akagburuonye, Hon. Eddy Obinna, moved a motion of implicit confidence in Governor Hope Uzodimma which was unanimously adopted by the whole house.

Engr. Akagburuonye, a real estate mogul who is also the founder of Hope Rising for Imolites, an organisation that empowers Imo citizens with skills and business capital, on Sunday at the Aboh Mbaise APC stakeholders meeting held at the country home of the Council Chairman, Barr. Iheukwumere Alaribe, at Uvuru, disclosed that he is ready and capable to serve Imo people.

Akagburuonye, who urged the members of APC to remain focused and eschew unhealthy rivalry, reminded them that the battle ahead is enormous as he declared his interest to lead the ‘battle’. He stated that the battle is of the Lord and that his pride in APC is the reason he is stepping forward for the battle. He noted that the battle is not for the weak or faint-hearted but for the strong.

“Remain focused on what you’re doing. It’s because I’m proud of APC that I’ve offered myself because I’ve looked at the battle ahead and see that it’s not the one of propaganda, not for guy men but battle for the strong hearted- and it’s God that owns the battle – and I want to let you know that I have come out to lead the battle,” Akagburuonye declared.

The declaration was greeted with a rousing applause and unflinching acceptance, as Chief Akagburuonye likened himself to the Biblical David who went into war with Goliath to improve the condition of his people.

The Akaraugo 1 of Mbaise encouraged the members not to be afraid of those that parade themselves with credentials of political experience, noting that he is going to the battle with the Grace of God which is sufficient to give him victory.

He averred that with the Grace of God as his tool and armour, God will certainly defend His Name and proclamation, noting that anyone who despises God’s Grace would head for a disaster.

The quintessential philanthropist stated that if experience is the criterion for victory he possesses enough, making reference to the Biblical account where Saul queried David’s capacity to confront Goliath but at the end David overcame. He noted that in like manner he has encountered battles that seemed insurmountable but God saw him through hence, his ambition to serve his people will not be an exception.

Amb. Akagburuonye encouraged the leadership of Aboh Mbaise APC to make the meeting periodic as it is a veritable opportunity to interact and take stock of the party’s operations.

He thanked the minority leader in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Ugochukwu Amuchie, for attending the meeting even as he is of another party. He implored him to see reasons to defect to APC.

Earlier, the Council Chairman, Barr. Iheukwumere Alaribe announced to the audience that Aboh Mbaise is top on the IGR (internally generated revenue) ranking in the state, noting that Gov. Uzodimma has negotiated the construction of Okpala-Aboh-Aba branch road as work would start soon.

Amb. Akagburuonye, an ardent kingdom investor, earlier in the day, did a thanksgiving at the Assemblies of God, Ogbor Uvuru, for God’s mercies, protection and faithfulness. He moved from there to St. Theresa Catholic Church, Ogbor Uvuru, where he made a handsome donation for the building and renovation of the Church auditorium.
